Short Hairstyles – Choose The Right Style For Your Face

Celebrities have been known to sport the trendiest hairstyles, and you will be amazed to know that most of the bold styles are generally created from short hair. I certainly do not mean that one cannot create beautiful hairstyles from long hair, but shorter is what is preferred for those in style.

The latest actress to sport a short hairstyle is Emma Watson, aka Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter series, who on Facebook announced that she feels completely liberated after she had her haircut!

Most of us have felt this way at some point in our lives. Long hair is not easily manageable, and many of us find ourselves booking an appointment with the hairdresser after a couple of bad hair days. However, here comes the twist. When you sit in the chair and take one glance at your hair, you generally say, “Oh, I’ll go for the usual one. Could you only tidy it up slightly and get rid of the split ends?”

One of the reasons behind this is that while many of us would love to be as brave as Emma Watson and sport a short hairstyle, the fear of not gelling with the hairstyle keeps us bounded.

Well, fear not! There are short hairstyles that can suit almost anyone, and all it takes is to find the appropriate cut for your face shape. However, for those who have curly and thick hair, it is quite difficult to bring it in a short style. Shoulder cut length is advised for this type of hair, since the slightest hint of rain can turn your hair in a complete frizz ball!

Short hairstyles – Choose your style

Round face – A fun, layered and flirty style that will frame your face and will also finish right below your jaw line will do the trick effectively. This style, when teamed up with a slightly sweeping fringe can make a round face appear much thinner, while also defining your cheekbones more accurately.
Square face – Textured and tousled bobs can help reduce the appearance of an angular jaw line, and such styles are recommended for square faces. Ensure that the cut ends either above or right below the jaw. Also, avoid short hairstyles that finish at or near the chin since they accentuate the squareness of the face.
Long face – A long face can be best complemented with a simple yet elegant chin-length bob. Choosing to have a full style at either sides of the face can certainly balance your look; however, ensure that they are not long-length center parting styles. This style particularly makes your face seem even longer!
Oval face – These are what we call as the lucky ones! Any short hairstyle just suits the face; however a cute pixie crop will further accentuate your cheekbones and the eyes. Similarly, opting for a long angular bob will also provide a perfect frame for your face.

Hairstyles can be made to complement your face and are an effective way to enhance your overall looks. Take your time to find out the best hairstyle for you, and once you know you have it, well, just give it a go!
