Laser Hair Removal Guide

Laser hair removal is a procedure done utilizing a laser which is an intense beam of light to remove any unwanted hairs in your body. During the procedure, the laser beam passes through your skin until it reaches our hair follicles. Because of the laser’s intense heat, the hair follicles are destroyed causing the growth of hair to stop.

Laser hair removal was designed to remove permanently any unwanted hairs in your body with the use of a laser. Most men and women have problems with regards to unwanted body hairs. Majority of them resort to waxing, tweezing, and shaving only to get temporary relief from this certain condition.

Removal of hair with the use of a laser can be used to permanently remove and treat small and wide areas of unwanted body hairs. People with light skin and dark hair usually get the best results, and removal of hair is better on coarse hair than with fine hair. While hair removal might effectively slows down the rate of hair growth, it doesn’t mean that it would be permanent. It usually takes a couple of sessions to have a longer period of being hair-free. For this treatment, maintenance is usually advised for better results.

Almost any part of our body may be treated with this procedure. Common areas where laser hair removal is used are the armpits, the legs, chin, upper lip, and bikini line.

What happens during the procedure?

The area is cleaned and shaved for an easier and faster procedure. After cleaning the area, an anesthetic cream is applied to avoid the client from experiencing any pain during the treatment. Beams of concentrated light are produced by the laser that is being absorbed by our hair follicles which results to them being damaged. You might feel a slight discomfort during the procedure. The session may last up to a couple of minutes to an hour depending on the size of the area you want to be treated. Redness and swelling might appear after the procedure but these are normal and would just disappear after a short time.
